EASY LIFE – AUTOMATION AT YOUR SERVICE

Aims of the exhibition

The ”Easy Life – Automation at your service” exhibition opens at Heureka, the Finnish Science Centre, on 20 March 2004. The exhibition demonstrates how automation serves as the foundation of our well-being and how it affects our daily lives, even in ways that we do not necessarily see.

The exhibition was created especially with families and schoolchildren in mind. The purpose of the exhibition is to increase interest in automation among the girls and boys who will be making their decisions for the future. The exhibition provides plenty to do and experience for all ages. Those who visit the exhibition will become more aware of the presence of automation and technology in their own environment.

”Easy Life” is a fine example of Finnish and European expertise. The interactive exhibits open the door to automation and show how certain devices and systems operate. The topic is approached using everyday situations and objects, but the exhibition also shows the many levels and ways in which automation affects our lives. Our aim is to provide an exhibition in which guests learn and have fun through play and discovery.

Automation is made by man, powered by machine.

Co-operation with experts in the field

The exhibition has been designed in close co-operation with the Finnish Society of Automation. Heureka would like to thank the Society for their valuable input in the planning of the exhibition and for their excellent and reliable co-operation.

We are especially delighted that a large number of businesses and institutions at the forefront of this field have participated in the implementation of this exhibition. The exhibition’s main supporters, in addition to the Finnish Society of Automation, include Helsinki University of Technology, Siemens, Metso Automation Inc. and VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland. The Finnish Society of Automation has essentially harnessed all of the expertise in the field of automation and incorporated it into one terrific exhibition.
